CF: Father Figures and Fuel Lines, before Night Terrors

Obviously, Professor Xavier had finally come to his senses and realized Laura was ready to be a real super hero, not left behind at school with the Juniors when trouble came. Sensible of him. She had the most confirmed kills in the place, besides perhaps Weapon X himself, after all. She was exactly who you would want on a mission.

She was not sure why they had also brought Tarot, the other girl seemed too nice to kill anyone. Laura would have to make sure no one got to her.

Rogue could handle herself. She had proven that against the Purifiers. Laura would not be touching her again though. They had come to an impasse, apparently Rogue would not be facilitating her being kicked out of school, so Laura would keep an eye on her back too. Good thing. The middle of nowhere would have been the perfect place to push someone troublesome into frozen water and pretend it was an accident.

Too bad Hellion had not come.

Laura pressed her hands and nose to the window of the Blackbird. She wanted to see a polar bear, but did not voice that out loud. It was time to be professional.

She would just keep her eyes peeled.

Of course the ice melted away and by the time they landed she was looking at a jungle. Laura followed Rogue off the plane, shadowing the woman's footsteps and stopping behind her, sniffing the air. "I do not know about paradise Professor. There are reptiles out there. And they are large." She cocked her head, listening. There were all sorts of animals scurrying around nearby and she could smell, well not quite a lizard, but something.

Her eyes flicked to Magneto. Rogue was tense, more than just on a mission. Laura had no idea why, but she could smell it. Not to mention...

"I thought he was a bad guy," she whispered to Rogue. She had seen the footage from Alcatraz if nothing else, shaky and low quality though it had been. He had definitely been on the other side. She was not thrilled to hear his magnetism would be even better here, she might not have the full adamantium skeleton Wolverine did, but her claws were coated in the metal. She would hate for him to start dragging her along by them.

It would make him very hard to kill.

Maybe Tarot could summon her lion back if it came down to it. She would get Marie-Ange alone and consult with her.
