From: forgotten lands

Something akin to magnetism had always drawn Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr together; a different sort of magnetism which gave the world the powerhouse of two of the greatest minds to test the boundaries of what it meant to be human and mutant alike. They had gone different ways some time ago but their overall goals remained the same. Each only wanted what was best for their own kind, but only one of them wanted to be equal to humans. It was their evolutionary right to be more than equals; they were meant to inherit the Earth. A man of both philosophy and science would agree. Darwinism at its finest even with evolution taking a step forward so quickly. But the man known as Magneto remained silent as Charles came down, speaking to him about things which he already knew.

"Charles, have faith old friend. We will find more than paradise here." Cold blue eyes flickered their gaze to Rogue, who had come down the ramp next. "Rogue," he addressed her by the name she had picked for herself. Her true name. "Looking perfect as ever. Though I assume there has been some growth in the last decade." It was the only thing he was going to say to her, for he felt something familiar in the magnetic field around him. A sing-song thrumming so appropriately unique there could be only one who it belonged to. Though why Charles would bring him was not a question Magneto was going to ask.

To Erik's immense surprise, a young lady walked down the ramp third, looking familiar but only in the way one would recognize the adamantium on her bones. "So, there is yet another." His gaze returned to Charles for a moment; a knowing look of disappointment. Why bring another who had metal on their bones in some fashion? Not as extensively as Logan's but still enough for Magneto to do as he needed to should the opportunity arise. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that. "And who is this?" A girl he did not recognize, wearing the same uniform as the other two, had appeared last. How strange was it to bring someone who Magneto knew nothing about. Perhaps Charles truly was trusting in a way Erik had not anticipated.

Though he kept his helmet on, not bothering to trust the possibility of another telepath. "What might your power be?" He directed his question to the last out of the jet, ignoring the rustling in the trees even as a low, loud growl escaped whatever was out there. It moved through the underbrush, pushing aside whole trunks and stomping out bushes underfoot. Magneto knew it was there, could feel the disruption of the magnetic field as it was pushed aside. How was he to know when it would make its move? Still, waiting around for it to do so was not conducive to their adventure and the sense of wonder would need to cease as soon as possible. "We have an audience with this island's regent." Though little did current company know, their appointment would begin with breaking in to the sorceress' palace.

Something huffed from the trees, slowly appearing as it poked its head out into the clearing. All teeth and small eyes, two-fingered hands brandishing claws as it stepped more into view. "And it seems the local wildlife would like to delay us." Magneto turned towards the overgrown lizard, his back to the X-Men.
