Christian Frost struck a rather unassuming figure as he entered her office. Dani liked to think of herself as rather a good reader of people, whether that might be as a result of her mutation or some innate streak of her own personality. And yet, as dark eyes casually observed him, the first thing that came to mind was blank canvas. Brown shoes, brown pants, brown tie, brown jacket. White shirt, crisp and tailored, spoke of someone who took great pride in how they presented themselves to the world. The rest of him, as far as she could tell, was desperate to keep a low profile. And there was nothing wrong with that, not every mutant in the world needing to shout about who they were or what they could do. Granted, some of them couldn’t quite help how the world perceived them, their mutations bold and bright for all to see… but either way, there in her office, every one of them could sit without judgement. A small sliver of peace in a darkening world.

Slowly, encouragingly, Dani’s lips curled into a smile. Warm and welcoming, a genuine sentiment from a woman who often found herself too deep in thought, too analytical, too headstrong. Never one to deny a hand offered in her direction, the solidity of human contact just as vital as understanding the tangled inner workings of the mind, her own reached out to his in a firm handshake, steadying and grounded. With her other hand she gestured to one of the three nearby chairs, cozy and plush, the least the Cheyenne could do to put her clients at ease.

“Please, call me Dani. And the pleasure is all mine, truly. Getting sessions back up and running after… everything that’s happened in the District has been a challenge, but I am happy to receive any and all who need help. Or even just a listening ear.”

Moving away from the handshake in due time, Mirage continued to move around her office, finishing up her task of grabbing the relevant files and opening up all of the notes she needed to reference on her laptop, sliding it along the desk so that it was within easy reach of her own chair. Far be it from her to pay attention to the screen while her clients were pouring their hearts out, but technology seemed more and more to be a necessary tool, a gentle sort of evil.

Sweeping her long braids over her shoulders and settling down in her seat opposite Christian, close enough to be confidential but not too close as to invade too far into personal space, her bracelets of leather and turquoise beads jingled. A pen in hand, a deep breath, and she relaxed - a quiet invitation for him to do the same, if he could.

“Now then. In your own time, why is it you’ve come to see me today? I have my notes and thoughts, but I’d much prefer to hear it in your own words.”

No doubt there would be trauma along the way, but Dani was prepared for that. Besides, perhaps they could find some common understanding in it.

[CF: Fine Line]

Getting ready for a little excursion into District X was the easiest part of Christian's day. Grooming and dressing himself were simple tasks for what he knew he was about to be engaging in. Having been someone who usually preferred to have his mind on something other than the years of trauma and pain he had endured, he was aware that dealing with this would be beneficial in moving him forward in his entirety. Every single bit of him felt like a requirement in pursuing the life Emma was helping him build towards, the prime reason being so that the Frost siblings were doing exactly what they were meant to do. Unfortunately, it was also very reminiscent of his father, constantly berating him for his actions or going out of his way to make Christian's life hell so that he could be the ideal son.

That was why reaching out to the therapist known as Dani Moonstar felt incredibly important. Had he not discovered his mutation ever, he would have probably been fine with a well known, expensive non-mutant kind of psychiatrist. But, that wasn't the case and Christian was one who very much believed in looking after those just like himself even if they didn't look anything like him. These sort of decisions had been easier to make since he had dated that man, Dante, before his father had intervened. He had learned to be more welcoming of those who didn't possess the wealth that his family had, to help those who had less than him. So, it made much more sense to reach out to schedule an appointment so that he could begin actual treatment into fixing the things that still kept haunting his nightmares and daytime life.

Having dressed in a very soft brown colored pants and jacket with a tie to match, offering a distinction from the white button up shirt acting as an accent color to his current apparel. His brown ankle high boots carried him out of the car that had been chosen to drive him into the borough, purposely avoiding using a limosine to try and keep a low profile. Then, his boot clad feet carried himself inside the building, heading directly towards the office of his brand new therapist. A solid knock was given before he heard the woman's voice encouraging him to come inside. Not one to wait before a door opened for him, especially if it was already open, he stepped inside. "Hello, Dr. Moonstar right? It's a pleasure to meet you," Christian spoke, offering a hand as he moved over close enough so that he could properly meet the one that would be soon hearing about his traumatic life.

[CF: the earth will shake]

Missions of this caliber and serious were rare, though he had faith in each and every single one of these individuals that had joined forces. He remained quiet, having said what he needed to say in their debriefing prior. He was impressed by the number that had filled the war room, everyone seeking out to help in whatever way that they could to save their fellow mutants. "Listen up, Gold Team, move fast and hard. Don't forget, no killing," Scott spoke, his voice stern and authoritative. He had kept himself focused, tuning out any potential distractions that could affect this mission in a negative manner. Failing wasn't option here, so each and every single one of them had to be fully committed to the plan.

"Be careful out there. If you need help, call for it. Whomever's available make sure you answer it, we don't leave anyone behind. Understood?" Cyclops said, remaining calm from the bottom of his feet all the way up to strands of his hair. His visor was fastened to his head, prepared for whatever would come across him. The jet was then placed into autopilot, allowing for those onboard to exit as it hovered overhead of the Camp X-ray. A couple had already exited, namely Sunfire and Monet themselves whom he watched take off into the air. It was impressive to see the younger jack of all trades mutants take off, whom he had no doubt would bring the pain to the MRDies.

"Let's bring back our friends and families," he stated to group, moving out of his chair towards the front of the jet. Now without a second to lose, he was joining his colleagues in moving things forward. A hand was raised to side of his visor, jumping out of the jet with his optic blast firing out downwards. The energy shot down, ripping through the roof below him to create an entry point for him while the blast was decreased until he was standing down inside the place. An optic blast was soon generated, blasting away a security guard as he forced entry to another room. "Let's get going, the help has arrived," he told to whomever was in the room, before moving on. He couldn't take too much time, knowing that they still had so much to do.

A guard stepped forward, immediately met with an optic blast to the chest. He soon turned to use his blast to just slightly move him out of position to dodge bullets that were shot at him. The bullets soon hit the wall, with him looking at the person who looked astouned at how he had managed to move. An optic blast was soon released, forcing the man to fly back into a wall hard enough to knock him unconscious.

CF: A Dream in a Hellish NIghtmare

There was another Frost at the institute, another potential connection. Yes, it would have been more prudent to make direct inquiries with Emma Frost but as much as some of them (Esme in particular) would bitterly deny it all of their hearts were filled with fear, terror of rejection, a concern that Sebastian Shaw had been correct and Emma Frost would not care one iota about them regardless of whether they were linked by blood or something else.

The girls knew essentially nothing about Christian Frost aside from the fact that he was Emma Frost’s brother. There were no absurd expectations. They did not even believe he would necessarily be aware of any connection between the sisters and Emma Frost since by all appearances Emma Frost was estranged from her family.

Celeste, unsurprisingly, the most timid and affectionate of sisters, was the one to push for a proper meeting, introductions. She was supported by both Phoebe and Mindee. Phoebe would like more friends (as they currently had done) and familial connections (which they lacked outside of each other). Mindee, typically the last to make a firm decision, lost in her own little world, had astonished them all with her quick opinion. (She would like to play the piano for one who might be of significance to them.)

Sophie and Esme were not resistant to the notion of an interaction. They just nursed fewer hopes than their sisters.

Christian Frost’s brainwaves were simple to pinpoint. They found him in the garden without issue, five footsteps in perfect synchronization, so silent as to mirror stillness. Their attire varied as much as their expressions, Celest’s smile being the brightest and most optimistic, heartfelt, Esme’s being the most cold and apathetic, Mindee’s being the most dreamlike and aloof, Sophie’s being the most magnanimous and charismatic, and Phoebe’s being the softest and sweetest.

“Greetings, Christian Frost. Typically we would ask you to pardon the intrusion but it does not appear as though it is your desire to remain isolated. We have come to welcome you in earnest and if you would permit it we would have a private conversation with you. There is much we would like to discuss. However, we are aware that you are new and would perhaps prefer sunshine and rest. Let us know what is acceptable,” they spoke in unison.
